We are pleased to share CAMOC’s preliminary programme for the 27th ICOM General Conference: The Future of Museums in Rapidly Changing Communities, taking place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 11-17 November 2025.

Our International Committee activities revolve around the theme of Urban heritage: people and (re)presentation in rapidly changing cities and include presenter sessions focused on:

• Urban Heritage in Contested Landscapes
• Living Archives: Oral Narratives and City Memory                                                                   
• Urban Heritage in Contested Landscapes – Joint Session with ICFA Fine Arts
• Bridging Generations: Dialogue in Cities and Museums
• Urban Voices and Urban Spaces: Rethinking the Margins

A special workshop concentrates on Researching and Curating Cycling Histories. And our full day session at the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Centre for Cultural Understanding (SMCCU) in the historic Al Fahidi neighborhood on Saturday, 15 November starts with an overview presentation Beyond Museumification: Cultural Districts and Heritage Performance: Practices from the UAE by Dr Ayman Kassem of the University of Ajman.
