Instagram post 18137323129158405 21 February 2021: International Mother Language Day
In our largest cities, and CAMOC is about cities and the people in them, there can be as many as 90 languages spoken, yet these our greatest artefacts are dying at a rate of one every two weeks. Does it matter? The UN puts it this way: "People not only embed in languages their history, traditions, memory...but more importantly they also construct their future through them." So, what can be done? UNESCO’s International Mother Language Day is celebrated on the same date each year to promote awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity.
Check more details about the background information and a string of ideas and proposals for what can be done.

Dear CAMOC friends,

Here we would like to share reopening news for one of CAMOC’s members; the Museum of Krakow.

The Celestat is the first branch of the Museum of Krakow to re-open since pandemic restrictions were eased.

The exhibition of Nativity scenes, showing results of a contest has been one of the biggest attractions of the Christmas and New Year period in Krakow, frequented by families, and cherished because of its positive message. The Museum is very happy to be able to welcome visitors back, and trusts that the Nativity scenes will offer the residents of Krakow hope for the future
